Crisis Counseling Assistance Program (CCP)
The Crisis Counseling Assistance Program (CCP) is a team of dedicated professionals specializing in supporting the psychological recovery from natural disasters. In Texas, events such as hurricanes, flooding, hailstorms, and tornadoes are annual challenges that affect entire communities, bringing shared stress, uncertainty, and emotional triggers.
While many have evacuation plans and family meeting points, addressing the emotional aftermath often proves more challenging. That’s where we step in.
From February to July 2025, our CCP team will host bi-monthly support groups to raise community awareness, build coping skills, manage stress, and educate participants about the long-term psychological impacts of natural disasters. We also connect individuals to essential resources such as clothing, food, and shelter, and provide referrals for more intensive services through partner organizations.
These support groups foster connection by allowing members to share both challenges and successes, easing isolation and building hope. Our crisis counseling team is dedicated to creating a safe and supportive environment where Texans can recover together.
